About
Thank you for visiting Wanderarti. If you are a traveller, artist, or creative, or simply enjoy daydreaming about beautiful places then you have come to the right place!
What is this Wanderarti thing?
Wanderarti is a space where the realms of art and travel collide, creating somewhere for you to see the world through unique eyes every day of the week.
Wherever you are, you can take a journey around the world. Fancy a bit of Art Deco from Paris on a Thursday? No problem. How about some South American tribal masks on a Sunday? We’ve got it covered.
Wanderarti is not like other art or travel blogs. We don’t feature the same stories circling the web each week, nor do we hit you with top ten lists of places to visit. No, we pride ourselves on bringing you the best art work from all over the world, digging deep to find unknown artists and crafting stories out of pictures.
Our aim is to teach you about the world through different art forms, showing you how different people from different corners of the globe depict their surroundings. Because art can teach you a lot. Cliched, I know, but a picture speaks a thousand words. And, in this day and age when we want information instantly, nothing hits the spot better than a beautiful image.
What can you expect to find on Wanderarti?
Wanderarti is all about getting to know the world through creative depictions of it, seeing things from a different perspective, and hopefully learning a thing or two along the way. You can expect to see:
- Interviews with artists and travellers
- In-depth accounts of festivals around the world
- A look at local art all over the globe
- Artistic representations of people and places and more!
If there’s something you’d like to see, write about, or bring to the attention of Wanderarti, please do get in touch.
Who runs this Wanderarti thing?
I’m Lizzie, the editor, interviewer, curator, writer, and all round busybody behind Wanderarti. I love art and I love travel, so I thought I’d bring my two passions together in one place. I also have a travel blog, Wanderful World, where I write about various trips I have taken and question the ‘why’ behind travel, but Wanderarti is a separate entity that acts as a hub for all creatives to converge on and – hopefully – be inspired by.
Feel free to have a browse around, see if Wanderarti is something you have an interest in, and get in touch if you want to have a chat about anything at all! Plus, if you really, really like Wanderarti, I would love it if you signed up for the newsletter. I will only send you a couple of emails a month (NO SPAM!) highlighting some of the best posts on Wanderarti and some great pieces that I find outside of the site (always art and travel related).
What’s the plan for the future of Wanderarti?
I have many, many exciting things planned for Wanderarti over the following year including:
- Several e-books that will both help and inspire you
- Art guides for cities around the world
- More interviews from travelling artists
- A shop where you can buy some of your favourite pieces on Wanderarti and more!
If these pique your interest, you can follow along on social media, via the RSS feed, and by signing up for the newsletter (all of which you can access in the sidebar!)
